Speaking Test: Action Plan


  • Respond briefly to the introductory questions.
  • Make sure you can talk about your home town and your studies or work.
  • Build some lists of phrase and topic banks.
  • Listen to the question forms and the words that examiner uses. These will help you form your answer. Try to give a full answer. The examiner wants to hear you speak, so remember: it is important to talk.
  • Don't memorize long answers. You will lose marks for this.
  • Answer each question directly. Don't talk about something unrelated to the examiner's question.
